Journal Entry[edit | edit source]
"A roar like that can break your courage like a fist to the heart."
Riding the hypercharged islands nicknamed the Chain of Fire, the astoundingly strong blaze Behemoth dubbed Torgadoro has wreaked havoc on the islands of the Ram formation. As the charged blaze of the chain crashes through previously stable island constellations, forests have burned, frozen landscapes have melted into lush tropical climes, and temperate deserts have been scorched into scalded wastelands. At the top of the chain, the Torgadoro resides atop its volcanic redoubt, waiting for the Behemoths who are drawn to its domain to battle the Slayers that intrude upon its territory. And if those lesser defenders fall, the Torgadoro is ready to take matters into its own volcanic fists.
Unlike many other blaze feeders, the Torgadoro relies as much or more on punishing physical impacts, preternatural strength, and improbable agility rather than raw blasts of burning aether or liquefied stone (though there can be exceptions, of course). Instead of unleashing all its power like a flamethrower, a Torgadoro’s physiology funnels most of that heat into an archonite frame that may make it the physically strongest Behemoth ever recorded. The Torgadoro’s stunningly efficient musculature appears to be derived from extinct relatives of humans, as clearly shown by the creature's disturbingly human-like hands. Like the Shrike’s owlish visage and the Kharabak's beating dragonfly wings, the Torgadoro's undeniably simian features add another piece to the puzzle of Behemoth origins.
Kat's Hunting Tips:-When entering an aether-charged state, the Torgadoro 's fists burn so hot they form "mitts" of charged aetheric rock. It can slam these together to blast Slayers with a searing sledgehammer of sonic force. Break the mitts to prevent that.
-A Torgadoro will only use the hyperkinetic attack Slayers have dubbed a "megaslam" when enraged and seriously hurt.
-When the Torgadoro enters a flaming spin, lashing out instinctively against everything in site, it makes itself vulnerable. A heavy strike to its legs or head can interrupt the Behemoth's efforts.
-The easiest way to break the Torgadoro's thick and frequently out-of-reach skull is to climb aboard. When successfully mounted on its back, a Slayer can easily strike at the head.
