Journal Entry[]

"The doctor saw something strange on Cape Fury. Ancient. Big. Something from the past."

Among the most studied Behemoth species in the Shattered Isles, Drasks are perhaps as known a quantity as any Slayer can expect to find. But the variety familiar to Ramsgate's defenders is so well known because it has long been the "only" known survivor of the entire Draskform clade While Skraevs shared the ice fields with Winterhorns and Scorchstone Hellion dwelled near Ragetail Gnashers the dire Thunderdeep Drask had been declared extinct by the School of Behemothology years ago.

Dr. Priyani, in fact, has long considered Thunderdeep one of the true success stories, so it was with not small amount of frustrated surprise that she found herself face-to-face with the toothy, half-open maw of a Behemoth that had no idea it was no longer supposed to exist-and appeared to have spent its time away literally transforming its entire physiology.

Razor-edged fins crackling with living electricity, increased aggression, and heavier musculature round out the deadly package. Its head has even changed, no longer at the wedge shaped head of a lizard, instead lined with even more razorfins, jagged teeth, and haunting, ghostly eyes that Priyani suspects has left the creature with poor eyesight.

But even if it's blind as a Krolachi smolworm, the Thunderdeep would be a lethal threat... and one that may soon spread across the Shattered Isles like a rolling shockwave.

Kat’s Hunting Tips:

-Expecting the Thunderdeep to behave like an ordinary Drask, just tougher, is a mistake. Years evolving in apparent isolation has led to a wider and more diverse range of attacks, defenses, and special abilities than you may expect.

-Beware the lightning fist! The Thunderdeep can manipulate shock aether to power a mighty leap and take the airborne higher ground. They then lead with one clawed fist that slams foes into the ground with a crackling sphere of energy.

-This affinity for lighting extends to the natural variety, too. When the Thunderdeep enters the battlefield, it brings with it scattered, wild lightning strikes that seem to gather wherever it appears. Watch out for the warning signs, or get shock-locked out of your abilities!
