Shadowtouched Koshai is one of the Behemoths in Dauntless. It is a variant of Koshai.

"You know, dangerous as they are, your ordinary Koshai has a certain majesty. Dignity. Nobility, even. That thing? Pure, grade-A evil. I can tell by the way it's making my knee ache."
How one of the terra-feeding species known as Koshai - alias "the Sovereign of Thorns" - arrived in the Umbral Deeps in the first place is a mystery that may never be solved. But however it happened, the Koshai's plant-like form readily absorbed the charged umbral power that saturated everything and everywhere in the long-abandoned Void Runner caverns.
The Shadowtouched Koshai may no longer be a literal Sovereign of Thorns, but it is definitely proving to be a monarch of mayhem on the frontier, where many individuals escaped from the Deeps and returned to the wild now corrupt and twisted.
Kat's Hunting Tips:
- Like the terra-infused original, the Shadowtouched Koshai likes to launch itself from the island and into the sky on a wave of aether. Unlike the fabled Sovereign, the Shadowtouched Koshai will continue to dive in and out of the island, bending umbral and terra energy to do so. This Behemoth has almost no other affinity for terra aether, and in face does not even spawn seed pods or thorn clusters.
- When it emerges from the ground, the Shadowtouched Koshai will target one specific Slayer. To most accurately predict where it will appear, cluster together with your party. This ensures that no matter which party member is targeted, the Behemoth heads your way.

- Shadowtouched Koshai is an Elemental Variant of Koshai. It was introduced in Patch 1.3.0 (Call of the Void).
- For some systems, Shadowtouched Koshai will sometimes spawn with a bugged tail, appearing hollow without its grey skin on top, only showing purple fur. If it is severed, the tail fixes back to normal.
