"I think I liked them better when they only threw lightning bolts."
Drasks are one of the most widely distributed and adaptable species of Behemoth in The Shattered Isles, so it's little surprise to find a subspecies has adapted to feed on pure void aether while evolving with the isolated Umbral Deeps.
The Shadowtouched Drask employs deadly, corrupt energy pulled from the Umbral Void to weaken Slayers much the same way its more common counterparts use shock as a way to strike at prey from a distance. But for Slayers to whom fighting Drasks has become less of a challenge - perhaps even old hat - the Shadowtouched Drask presents an invigorating, if potentially lethal, lesson in the art of adaptation.
Kat's Hunting Tips:
- Perhaps because it sits so low to the ground, the Shadowtouched Drask is particularly adept at using umbral aether to manipulate the fundamental forces of nature - especially gravity. One of its most effective attacks uses this power to pull the Slayer into terrifyingly close range, where it can then smash its victims into next week with a heavy tail swipe.
- The Shadowtouched Drask can also infuse its own projectiles with this gravitational effect. If this happens, watch out for long-range strikes targeting that area!
